[English] RADWIMPS is an iconic Japanese rock band formed in 2001, whose name paradoxically means “excellent weaklings.” Led by the multifaceted Yojiro Noda, the band rose from the Yokohama indie scene to become a dominant force in Japanese rock with hits like Yushinron. Their career reached global heights through a historic collaboration with director Makoto Shinkai, composing the entire soundtracks for his “Disaster Trilogy”: Your Name., Weathering with You, and Suzume. Known for blending eclectic genres with Noda’s philosophical and deeply personal lyrics, RADWIMPS has evolved into a world-class act, performing to massive audiences across Asia, Europe, and North America.
[日本語] RADWIMPS（ラッドウィンプス）は、2001年に結成された日本を代表するロックバンドです。バンド名は「かっこいい弱虫」という逆説的な意味を持ちます。
稀代の表現者・野田洋次郎が生み出す、哲学的な歌詞と多彩なジャンルを横断する音楽性で、2000年代のロックシーンに革命を起こしました。『有心論』などのヒットで不動の人気を確立し、2016年には新海誠監督の『君の名は。』の全音楽を担当。主題歌「前前前世」は社会現象となり、バンドを新たな高みへと押し上げました。
その後も『天気の子』『すずめの戸締まり』と続く「災害三部作」の音楽をすべて手がけ、新海ワールドに欠かせない唯一無二のパートナーとなります。現在はアジア、欧米を含むワールドツアーを成功させるなど、国境を超えて人々の心に響く「世界のRADWIMPS」としてその歩みを止めることはありません。
