[English] Benjamin Géza Affleck is an American actor, director, screenwriter, and producer who has achieved success in both acting and filmmaking. Beginning as a child actor, Affleck gained international fame co-writing Good Will Hunting (1997) with childhood friend Matt Damon, winning the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay at age 25. He became a leading man in films like Armageddon (1998), Pearl Harbor (2001), and The Sum of All Fears (2002), though his career experienced setbacks in the early 2000s. Transitioning to directing, Affleck earned critical acclaim with Gone Baby Gone (2007), The Town (2010), and Argo (2012), the latter winning the Academy Award for Best Picture and establishing him as a major director.
