Synopsis / あらすじ
[English / 英語] James (Kyle Mooney) has spent 25 years raised in an underground bunker by Ted and April (Mark Hamill, Jane Adams), a couple he believes to be his parents. His entire understanding of the world is shaped by “Brigsby Bear Adventures,” a quirky educational children’s show produced solely for him by Ted. One day, the police raid the bunker and rescue James—revealing that Ted and April are kidnappers and his biological parents are elsewhere. Suddenly thrust into a complex and overwhelming reality, James struggles to adapt to a world that doesn’t know Brigsby. However, he discovers a singular purpose: to finish the Brigsby Bear story by making a movie. Through the collaborative act of filmmaking, James connects with a new community and begins to heal his profound isolation. The film asks: Can creativity truly mend a broken life? Can a personal obsession become a prescription for social reintegration? And what is the quiet, transformative power of a community that says “yes” to someone’s dream?
