Synopsis / あらすじ
[English / 英語] In 1849 Maryland, a young enslaved woman named Araminta “Minty” Ross makes the harrowing decision to escape her plantation in search of freedom. Leaving behind her beloved husband, John, she embarks on a perilous 100-mile journey on foot to reach Philadelphia. There, she meets abolitionists William Still and Marie Buchanon, and renames herself Harriet Tubman. Finding her own freedom is not enough; she becomes a legendary “conductor” of the Underground Railroad, risking her life to return to the South multiple times to rescue her family and hundreds of others. Facing the brutal Fugitive Slave Act and relentless slave hunters, she transforms into a beacon of hope. The film poses profound questions: What is the true cost of freedom? What defines absolute courage? And how far would you go to save the lives of others?
