Synopsis / あらすじ
[English] Hong Kong, 1962. Mrs. Chan and Mr. Chow move into neighboring apartments on the same day. Amidst the shared solitude of their spouses’ frequent absences, they discover a devastating truth: their partners are having an affair with each other. Bound by betrayal, they begin to meet, seeking to understand the “how” and “why” of their spouses’ infidelity. Yet, they vow, “We will not be like them.” In the suffocating elegance of 1960s Hong Kong, their repressed longing blooms in silence—a fleeting “In the Mood for Love” that remains beautiful because it is never fulfilled.
