Synopsis / あらすじ
[English] At forty, Harvey Milk leaves a safe, closeted life in New York for San Francisco’s Castro District, seeking a place to live openly. What begins as a small camera shop evolves into the heart of a movement. Becoming “The Mayor of Castro Street,” Harvey fights for the dignity of a marginalized community, eventually making history as one of America’s first openly gay elected officials. Milk is the stirring portrait of a man who understood that visibility is the most powerful weapon against prejudice, and that the most radical act one can perform is simply to live as oneself, unapologetically.
