Synopsis /
[English / 英語] Paterson is a bus driver in the city that shares his name: Paterson, New Jersey. His life is an exquisite clockwork of repetition. Every morning, he wakes beside his creative wife, Laura; he drives his bus along the same route, drifting in the currents of his passengers’ fragmented conversations. During his lunch break by the Great Falls, he transcribes the quiet observations of his soul into a secret “Project” notebook. His evenings are spent listening to Laura’s ever-changing dreams, walking their mischievous dog Marvin, and nursing a single beer at a local bar. While his days may seem unremarkable to an outsider, Paterson finds a profound, rhythmic beauty within the loop. The film poses a serene challenge to our modern era: Can a rigid routine transcend into poetry?
