English (Short Synopsis)
The Kim family lives a hand-to-mouth existence in a dark, damp semi-basement apartment, struggling to make ends meet. Their fortunes change when their son, Ki-woo (Choi Woo-shik), secures a position as an English tutor for the daughter of the wealthy Park family, using a forged degree.
One by one, the Kims cunningly insinuate themselves into the Park household, displacing the existing staff to become their driver, art therapist, and housekeeper. The two families, occupying vastly different social strata, become inextricably linked—until a shocking secret hidden deep within the Park’s basement is unraveled.

キム家は、陽の当たらない湿った半地下住宅で、その日暮らしの貧しい生活を送っていました。しかし、息子ギウ(チェ・ウシク)が学歴を偽造し、裕福なパク家の娘の英語家庭教師の職を手に入れたことから、家族の運命は大きく動き出します。
ギウを皮切りに、キム家の面々は次々とパク家に潜入。運転手、美術療法士、家政婦として、元の雇い主たちを巧妙に追い出し、豪邸に入り込んでいきます。全く異なる階級に属する二つの家族は、切っても切れない関係へと発展していきますが、パク家の地下室に隠されていた「衝撃的な秘密」が明らかになった時、物語は破滅的な結末へと加速していきます。
