- Share niche hobbies on social media
- Do something that’s not “normal”
And for this holiday, I recommend watching Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022).

Daniels (Daniel Kwan & Daniel Scheinert) — A Director Duo Who Love Strangeness
Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert are a director duo known as “Daniels.” They gained attention with their 2016 film Swiss Army Man (a movie where a corpse is the protagonist).
Characteristics of Daniels:

I thought, ‘Shit, everyone’s going to beat us to what we’ve been working on.’” Similarly, after watching Season 2 of Rick and Morty, he felt “they’ve already done everything we thought was original!” and stopped watching Rick and Morty while writing the script.
Script Evolution: In early drafts, the protagonist was a professor with undiagnosed ADHD. Through research for this project, Kwan discovered he himself had undiagnosed ADHD.
Initially, the script was written for Jackie Chan, but Daniels changed the protagonist to a woman because “we felt the marital dynamics would be more relatable.”
The new script’s protagonist was initially named “Michelle Wang” — after lead actress Michelle Yeoh. However, Yeoh herself requested the name be changed to “Evelyn,” saying “Evelyn deserves to have her own story told.”

For the rock universe scenes, they used Runway AI (an AI tool) to automate rotoscoping (mask creation) for shots filmed on green screen.
