Synopsis / あらすじ
[English] Matilda Wormwood is a brilliant young girl born into a family that prizes only mindless television and dishonest gain. While her parents remain blind to her genius, Matilda finds sanctuary and empowerment through the joy of reading. Upon entering elementary school, she confronts the tyrannical Principal Miss Trunchbull, but finds a kindred spirit in the compassionate Miss Honey. As Matilda discovers her latent telekinetic powers, she harnesses them to protect her friends and Miss Honey from systemic injustice. The film poses profound questions: What is the true power of literature? What constitutes genuine education? And how can knowledge become the ultimate lever to transform one’s reality?
