[English] Takahiro Miura (b. November 10, 1985, Tokyo) is a Japanese actor known for his understated, naturalistic presence across a wide range of film and television work. A graduate of Juntendo University’s Faculty of Health and Sports Science, he was a competitive lifesaver in his student years and initially intended to pursue a career in social welfare before deciding, near graduation, to become an actor. The son of veteran actor Tomokazu Miura and the celebrated former singer Momoe Yamaguchi, he chose to enter the profession on his own initiative, wanting to see how far he could compete in the same arena as his father.

He made his film debut in 2010 in RAILWAYS: A 49-Year-Old Man Who Became a Train Driver, a performance that won him the Newcomer of the Year prize at the 34th Japan Academy Film Prize and the 35th Hochi Film Award. Around the same time he gained wide attention as the 16th face of the long-running “Lipovitan D” commercial campaign. He took his first leading film role in 2011 and, for his 2012 work, received the Best New Actor award at the 86th Kinema Junpo Awards.

Miura has since built a prolific and versatile career, appearing in major films such as The Eternal Zero (2013), the Attack on Titan two-part live-action films (2015), Shin Godzilla (2016), and the Kingdom series (2022–), as well as the quiet human drama Shiori (2018), in which he played a physical therapist. On television he has appeared in NHK’s flagship year-long dramas, including Hana Moyu (2015) and Idaten (2019), and the morning serial Yell (2020). He is equally at home in restrained, interior roles and large-scale genre spectacle.

2010年、映画『RAILWAYS 49歳で電車の運転士になった男の物語』で俳優デビュー。この演技が高く評価され、第34回日本アカデミー賞新人俳優賞、第35回報知映画賞新人賞を受賞しました。同じ頃、大正製薬「リポビタンD」の16代目CMキャラクターに起用され、広く注目を集めます。2011年に映画初主演を果たし、2012年の出演作により第86回キネマ旬報ベスト・テン新人男優賞を受賞しました。
