A young bear from “Darkest Peru” arrives at London’s Paddington Station clutching a battered suitcase, a red hat, and a label reading “Please look after this bear. Thank you.” Displaced by an earthquake that killed his uncle and forced his beloved Aunt Lucy into a retirement home, Paddington traveled thousands of miles seeking the British explorer who once promised his family would always be welcome in London. Instead, he finds a cold, indifferent city—until the Brown family stops. Risk-analyst Henry Brown insists the bear can only stay one night. But his wife Mary, their children Judy and Jonathan, and housekeeper Mrs. Bird see something special in this polite, marmalade-loving stranger. As Paddington searches for the explorer while causing well-intentioned chaos (flooded bathrooms, kitchen disasters, toothbrush incidents), he teaches the Browns that home isn’t a place—it’s the people who look after you. But when villainous taxidermist Millicent Clyde discovers a rare Peruvian bear in London, Paddington’s quest for belonging becomes a fight for survival.
