Adam Lerner is a 27-year-old radio producer who lives a healthy, cautious life—until he is diagnosed with a rare spinal cancer and given a 50/50 chance of survival. His world quickly spirals into a mix of tragedy and absurdity. His best friend Kyle tries to use the diagnosis to pick up women, while his overbearing mother smothers him with unwanted care, and his girlfriend Rachel struggles to hide her discomfort. Assigned to an inexperienced, 24-year-old therapist named Katherine, Adam must navigate the grueling realities of chemotherapy and the looming shadow of mortality. Through the haze of medicinal marijuana and existential dread, he discovers that friendship and humor are as vital to survival as the treatment itself. In the face of uncertain odds, Adam learns that even a 50% chance is worth fighting for.
