[English] Clinton Eastwood Jr. is an American actor, film director, producer, and composer who has become one of the most enduring cultural icons in American cinema. After achieving success in the Western TV series Rawhide (1959-1965), Eastwood rose to international fame as the “Man with No Name” in Sergio Leone’s Dollars Trilogy of spaghetti Westerns during the mid-1960s and as antihero cop Harry Callahan in the Dirty Harry films throughout the 1970s and 1980s. He made his directorial debut with Play Misty for Me (1971) and has since directed over 40 films. Eastwood has won five Academy Awards including Best Director and Best Picture for both Unforgiven (1992) and Million Dollar Baby (2004), plus the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award (1995). At age 74 he became the oldest person to win Best Director. His career spans over 70 years, and at age 94, he directed Juror #2 (2024), possibly his final film. Eastwood has been associated with Warner Bros. for nearly 50 years, earning the studio over $4 billion in box office revenue.
