Synopsis / あらすじ

Synopsis: 1942. Steve Rogers is a thin young man from Brooklyn who has been rejected by the US Army five times, most recently for a list of medical conditions that fills half a page. He wants to serve his country. He is not looking for adventure — he simply cannot walk away from a fight he believes is right. Dr. Abraham Erskine, developer of a “Super Soldier Serum,” observes Steve in training and chooses him not for his physical capability but for what he sees in his character. Steve is transformed into the peak of human physical ability. He becomes Captain America — first as a propaganda figure, then in actual combat against HYDRA, the rogue weapons division of Nazi Germany. The film is set in the 1940s and concludes directly into the events of The Avengers (2012).
