Karen Silkwood is a worker at the Kerr-McGee Cimarron plant in Oklahoma, where she manufactures plutonium fuel rods. Her life is rooted in the gritty, smoky reality of the working class until she joins the union’s safety committee. What begins as a routine check into workplace conditions soon uncovers a chilling pattern of safety violations and falsified records.

The stakes turn personal when Karen is diagnosed with radiation exposure. As she struggles to understand how she was contaminated, she finds herself caught in a web of corporate denial and worker intimidation. Realizing that the danger extends far beyond the factory walls and into her own home, Karen must navigate a growing sense of paranoia and isolation. She decides to take a stand, but as she begins to gather evidence, she realizes that challenging a powerful industry might carry a price far higher than she ever imagined.
