Synopsis (English)

Three timeframes run in parallel. On the beach (one week): a young British soldier named Tommy tries to find a way onto one of the evacuation ships as bombs rain down, and the water around the jetty fills with bodies and oil. At sea (one day): a civilian named Mr. Dawson navigates his small boat across the Channel toward Dunkirk, accompanied by his son and a young deckhand. In the air (one hour): RAF Spitfire pilot Farrier monitors his remaining fuel as he engages German aircraft over the sea. These three threads eventually converge. No explanation is given. The film throws the audience directly into the heart of the experience and never looks back.
