On January 15, 2009, US Airways Flight 1549 loses both engines after a bird strike shortly after takeoff from LaGuardia Airport. Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger makes the split-second decision to land on the Hudson River, saving all 155 souls aboard in what becomes known as the “Miracle on the Hudson.” But as the world celebrates his heroism, an investigation questions whether he made the right call—could he have safely returned to the airport instead?
