Synopsis / あらすじ

[English / 英語] Two Marines stationed at Guantanamo Bay—Lance Corporal Harold Dawson and Private First Class Louden Downey—are charged with the murder of fellow Marine William Santiago. With the evidence heavily stacked against them, the defense is assigned to Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee, a Navy lawyer who prefers quick plea bargains over courtroom battles. However, alongside the determined Lieutenant Commander Joanne Galloway, Kaffee begins to uncover the possibility that the defendants were executing a “Code Red”—an unauthorized disciplinary hazing—under the direct orders of their commanding officer, Colonel Nathan Jessup. Kaffee is forced to decide: take a safe legal route or risk his career to put the powerful Jessup on the stand. The confrontation builds to a definitive climax that questions the nature of institutional loyalty and the weight of the truth.
