Synopsis / あらすじ
Synopsis: There is no narrative. A meadow and pond in southern France, from dawn to dusk. A dung beetle rolls its ball. A spider wraps its prey. A mosquito hatches through the surface of the water. Snails mate. A caterpillar moves through the grass. A mantis waits. Rain falls and changes everything. Time passes at different speeds in different shots: a second stretched into a minute, an hour compressed into ten seconds. The film does not explain what we are watching. It shows it. The audience is left to determine what the images mean, and what they feel looking at them.
あらすじ: 物語はありません。南フランスのアヴェロン地方、夜明けから日暮れまでの草原と池。フンコロガシが球を転がす。蜘蛛が獲物を包む。蚊が水面を突き破って羽化する。カタツムリが交尾する。毛虫が草の中を進む。雨が降り、世界が変わる。映像は様々な速度で流れ——一秒が一分に引き伸ばされ、一時間が十秒に圧縮されます。映画は映し出されるものを説明しません。ただ見せます。観客は自分で、その映像が何を意味し、何を感じさせるかを決めることになります。
