[English] Luke Treadaway (Luke Antony Newman Treadaway, b. September 10, 1984, Exeter, Devon) is a British actor and musician, admired for the intelligence, emotional transparency, and physical commitment of his performances across stage, film, and television. Raised in the Devon countryside near Crediton, the son of a primary-school teacher and an architect, he is the identical twin of actor Harry Treadaway, with whom he has occasionally worked. He trained at the National Youth Theatre and LAMDA (the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art).

Treadaway made his film debut alongside his twin brother in Brothers of the Head (2005), playing one of a pair of conjoined-twin rock singers — a role for which the brothers famously spent weeks connected by a harness to prepare. He went on to a range of British film and television roles, including the sci-fi cult hit Attack the Block (2011), the fantasy blockbuster Clash of the Titans (2010), and Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken (2014). It was on stage, however, that he achieved his defining success: playing Christopher Boone, a neurodivergent teenager, in the National Theatre’s acclaimed production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (2012), a performance that won him the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor.
